On my last trip I discovered that the most effective way to plan a trip is by creating a network and asking locals or people who have already visited the place, to guide me on what, where, when, how, and how long it takes to move around the area. Before our last trip to the state of Oaxaca last November, I decided to ask my family and friends to recommend a good hotel, places to eat, and things to do. I followed their recommendations and our trip ran very smoothly. We loved the hotel we stayed in, ate the best mole ever, and used every minute of our time effectively. Knowing where to go and not missing out on important things is very important for me when I travel.
Every year we have family and friends visiting our home in San Diego from Mexico. And it just occurred to me that creating a tourist guide of San Diego could be a nice project that I could always use every time we have company.
